About the event
Ragas & Sagas is an immersive evening of Hindustani classical music, storytelling, and deep musical dialogue, led by the award-winning maestro Joel Veena on his rare 20-stringed Hindustani slide guitar.
Joining him is the exceptional tabla virtuoso Suraj Nirwan, a distinguished exponent of the Delhi Gharana, respected educator, songwriter, and son of tabla maestro Pt. Subhash Nirwan. Known for his refined accompaniment and powerful rhythmic storytelling, Suraj adds depth, energy, and sensitivity to every movement.
With a long history of collaboration including recordings on Joel’s albums Unexpected Blessings (2017) and Milap (2019)—this concert offers audiences a rare chance to witness the singular chemistry of two deeply aligned artists, coming together in an intimate setting for an evening of reflection, resonance, and rasa.
